Public voting for the Taste Farmers' Market of the Year Awards will open on the 1st May and consummers go into the draw to win a 14 course degustation dinner at a "pop up kitchen"  using local fresh seasonal produce.

Farmers' Markets NZ Chairperson Chris Fortune says that "as a community we need to remember that when we are sitting at our dinner tables we should be talking, communicating, networking, socialising, arguing and laughing  with each other, but most of all supporting our local food producers by using locally made, seasonal produce that highlights the real taste of our real food producers."
