Welcome to this winter edition of the Hawke's Bay Farmers' Market newsletter.

The days in Hawke's Bay are still lovely but the mornings are starting to get a bit chilly and for Farmers' Market stallholders it is an early start on Saturday and Sunday mornings!

While there is still some late summer produce, such as the last of the capsicums - check out Orcona's great specials - the markets are filling with hearty winter produce - kale, celeraic, cabbages, new season's walnuts, mandrins, apples and pears just for starters.

This week Ti Kouka have great vaule Family Meat Packs and Signita Fine Foods have a new product - delicious patties - and for those looking for a healthy alternative check out yacon at Epicurean supplies and then take it over Coastal Squeeze who will add it your juice - see below for more information about yacon.

We also welcome back to the Hastings Market 114 Avocados who have avocados, mandrins and walnuts - you will find them outside on the asphalt.
