Hello and welcome to my official website.

For those of you who don't know me, I am an athlete in the sport of rowing. I have trained full time since 2001 and can honestly say I love my job. There are always tough times and things you hate doing, but overall it's a pretty awesome existence.

I have been fortunate enough and very proud to have represented New Zealand at seven World Championships and two Olympic Games. I have won five World Championship titles, a World Championship Silver medal and an Olympic Bronze Medal.

My goal this year is to stay at the top of the field in the single sculls and bring home the elusive Olympic Gold from London in August 2012. You can find out more about me under the About Mahé link above or Click Here

2010 was an exciting year as the World Championships were held at Lake Karapiro in New Zealand from 31 October to 7 November. Racing in front of a home crowd was one of my career highlights, unfortunately due to a disrupted build up due to a back injury and a flying Czech sculler I had to settle for a silver medal. Incidentally last time the World Champs were held in New Zealand, was a week before I was born in 1978.

2011 was a come back year for me. In March 2011 I finally had a diagnosis for my back problems and through trial and error found a way to train without it effecting me. That has meant more time on the bike and less on the water. At the World Championships in September I managed to put the struggles behind me and get back on top of the podium, which was a huge relief and wonderful feeling.

This website has been designed to keep supporters and friends up to date with what's happening, how I'm going, as well as provide some facts and information about who I am and what I do.
