I am enjoying the lazy Sunday mornings now, and being a customer on Thursday afternoons. Our property is so low lying that gardening in winter is next to impossible, with even raised beds being supremely soggy from June through to late August. The garden has that sodden winter look, and the only gardening I have been doing lately is the planting of a new raised bed of ornamentals. I do believe that gardeners do not live by vegetables & fruit alone..flowers, whether they are herbal or just ornamental, are a big part of my garden, along with lots of greenery that is so refreshing to the eye on hot summer days. Even the lawns have their purpose, providing lots of mulch and compost as well as cooling the house area. Our lemon trees are tucked up with a hay bale house each, which helps keep these frosts at bay. Hope you all have a happy winter, keep warm and join us on Thursdays or in the spring.
Winter has brought my season to an end. I will return to the Farmers' Market at the first market of the year in October. Hope you can join us to celebrate 10 years of the Market in Marlborough.
