Sally and Garrick Lang are very popular at the Marlborough farmers market and the selection of product is always first class, with either the baking or the crisp micro greens
IIn the year 2001 Destination Marlborough sowed the seeds for a new and exciting concept and a group of motivated individuals set about organising New Zealands 2nd Bonafide Farmers Market. The concept was simple, that of providing a venue for the sale of fresh local quality produce direct from the produce to the consumer.
The Marlborough Farmers Market committee has worked hard to ensure that the market has stayed true to the principles of farmers markets all over the world
1. The PRODUCE or product sold must be grown or processed in Marlborough.
2. The Stallholder MUST be involved with the production or growing of the products being sold.
3. The products sold MUST be edible, fresh cut flowers, potted edible plants, natural compost., etc.
All applications outside the normal criteria will be considered by the committee
Founding members are still activly involved in the running and organising of the market to ensure that it lasts many years into the future.
